http://www.mnhs.org Marvelous discoveries about the world we live in await inside the Minnesota History Center. Located on the edge of downtown St. Paul, exhibits include a living history of a St. Paul house, where we can learn about the families that have lived there since it was first built, including many immigrants building futures for their families. There are also massive collections of photos and documents tracing the history of our state. The center offers a selection of youth groups and outreach programs with an aim in historical education for children, while venue rentals of beautiful on-site ballrooms are available for higher rates. http://www.smm.org The William L. McKnight-3M Omnitheater is a convertible IMAX Dome -- the only convertible dome theater in the United States -- on the fifth level of the Science Museum of Minnesota, located in the Riverfront area of downtown St. Paul. With creative roots dating back to 1978, the Omnitheater remains one of the leading pioneers in large-screen viewing experiences, having produced 11 original giant screen films that have been seen by 60 million people in 24 countries around the globe. The theater itself puts 375 film-goers right in the heart of the viewing experience, immersing them in a vivid, breathtaking visual experience that is unmatched in other theaters, but is also adaptable enough to show both giant-screen films as well as a variety of other digital formats. The Omnitheater regularly hosts films and screenings that coincide with exhibits taking place in the Science Museum, augmenting the learning experiences of both students and teachers for field trips and special events. Shows at the Omnitheater typically sell-out quickly, so advance ticket purchases are strongly recommended. More >>
