  • Valleyfair

1 Valleyfair Drive Shakopee, MN 55379
800-FUN-RIDE Load up the family truckster and head on down to Valleyfair in Shakopee for more fun than you can shake a stick at. The upper Midwest's largest amusement park, Valleyfair is filled with rides for kids of all ages. From classic rides like the six classic coasters -- including the Corkscrew or the creaky old High Roller -- Ferris wheels, and bumper cars, to new attractions like Dinosaurs Alive, each visit is always an adventure. The park has several designated rides for children, including a scenic train ride around the grounds, along with a world-class selection of thrill rides to satisfy any daredevil, like the 200-foot, free-falling Power Tower. The venue also offers mini-golf and live entertainment, and novelty shops selling gear and food line the walking paths. When the temperatures soar they've also got the killer Soak City water park for cooling off. More >>

  • Water Park of America

    Water Park of America

    1700 American Blvd. E. Bloomington, MN 55425
952-698-8888 Of all the tourist traps around and inside the Mall of America, the Water Park of America is one of the most entertaining. If you want to make a weekend of it, you can stay in the attached hotel, but day passes are an affordable option as well. There’s a wave pool, a lazy river, a hot tub, a big water-based jungle gym for the kids, and a water-jet pool for indoor surfing fun. That’s to say nothing of the several levels of water slides, including body slides and inflatable raft pools. Don’t go on busy days like Memorial Day; the park packs in the bodies and at a certain point it becomes difficult to move around. But the warm water makes for a great mid-winter getaway for frozen Minnesotans. More >>
