Write of Spring

In 2007, Minneapolis was deemed America's most literate city. It is also considered to be a publishing hot spot, with printing presses including Milkweed Editions, Graywolf Press, and Minnesota Center for Book Arts, among others. It makes sense then that the state of Minnesota would have a lively literary scene. What may surprise you more is that we have enough mystery and crime writers to sustain an event that can be described only as a whirlwind of authors. This weekend Once Upon a Crime will again open its doors for Write of Spring, an event that hosts a mind-boggling 60 local authors in a mind-blowing four hours. That's 15 to 16 authors an hour, both famous and obscure, including William Kent Krueger, Ellen Hart, Larry Millett, and Chuck Logan, to only name a few. Bring a book to sign and a question to ask, and repress any tendencies toward claustrophobia.
