When A Man Loves a Diva

You'll laugh, you'll cheer, you'll scratch your head at improper pronoun usage. Originally mounted this spring and now back by popular demand, this show of classic ballads and power anthems from the likes of Diana Ross, Aretha Franklin, and Barbara Streisand is sung with style and substance by three skilled performers. Dane Stauffer is at his playful best, Nathan Shrake replaces Ben Bakken from the original cast, and Julius C. Collins III, best known as the lead singer for Greazy Meal and Doctor Mambo's Combo, booms with the best of them. Highlights include Stauffer's kitschy audience banter and Collins's soulful stylings on Whitney Houston's "I Will Always Love You." Musical director Sanford Moore, founder of Moore By Four, accompanies on piano.
Thursdays-Saturdays, 8 p.m.; Sundays, 7 p.m. Starts: July 23. Continues through Aug. 16, 2009
