In the summertime, Minnesotans flock to lakes and pools for fun. This weekend, Phalen Park will be offering a little something extra in this vein for WaterFest, a daylong festival celebrating outdoor water activities. At this family-friendly event, folks of all ages and skill levels will be welcome to go on guided canoe and solar pontoon rides, or rent a kayak or canoe and spend an afternoon exploring by themselves. There will also be standup paddleboard and sailing demonstrations and fishing lessons. Meanwhile, on dry land, kids and grownups alike can enjoy the climbing wall, the bounce castle, the native plant give-away, live animals, and lakeside yoga. Hmong dancers will give traditional performances, and fair food will be available for purchase.
