Urban Expedition: Germany
So, perhaps you missed out on German treats and brews during Oktoberfest. Or maybe you were too young to be barhopping anyway. This Sunday is your chance to enjoy all things German over at the Landmark Center. While the darker stylings of German techno are most likely to remain in the underground clubs, or at least at Bondage-a-Go-Go, this family-friendly event will revel in things more old-fashioned. There will be traditional music, dance, and storytelling. Bring your dear frau for free Bavarian dance lessons, look up your family roots at the genealogy station, or help the kiddies learn how to make paper stars and hats at the crafts tables. Hungry? Black Forest Inn and Ruhland's Strudel House will have food hearty enough for the hungriest stomachs.
Sun., Jan. 18, 1-3 p.m., 2009
