Now in its fourth year, the Uptown Market opened last week amid Lyndale Open Street shenanigans. The weekly summertime event has moved from the road near the VFW to Intermedia Arts' parking lot. Here you'll not only be able to do some weekend grocery shopping with fresh fruits and vegetables available for purchase, but can also shop for gifts, jewelry, and other locally made items. Or simply meet up with friends for some coffee and good eats from a food truck. Offerings change each week, so you never know what you will find, but coming home with an unplanned purchase like a potted plant, bag of beets, or a jar of spicy salsa is half the fun. Added bonus: Unlike other farmers' markets around town, you don't have to get up early in order to snag the best foodstuffs. This happening mercifully starts at a manageable hour of 10 a.m. More info at www.uptownmarket.org. (Photo by Shaun Laden)
Sundays, 10 a.m.-3 p.m. Starts: June 10. Continues through July 8, 2012
