UNTITLED 10: SooVAC's 10th Annual Juried Show
Ten years ago, SooVAC initiated its first juried exhibition series, "Untitled." The annual show uniquely encourages artists of any media, at any point in their career, to submit. The result is prismatic, offering a multi-perspective look at art currently being created in the Twin Cities. The excitement this year is also because of the jurors. One is poet Heid E. Erdrich, who frequently collaborates with galleries on exhibits of Native American art. The other is Jennifer Phelps, director of the Burnet Gallery and overseer of Le Meridien Chambers Minneapolis's art, which includes work by British artists Damien Hirst and Tracy Emin. The work they've selected is arresting, fascinating, unexpected, and heartbreaking. This year's exhibition is larger than any prior year's, and there will be an opening reception from 6 to 9 p.m. Friday, December 6. (Pictured: Miranda Brandon, Impact(Warbler))
Wednesdays-Sundays. Starts: Dec. 6. Continues through Jan. 11, 2013
