Twin Cities Zinefest
Now in its 10th year, the Twin Cities Zinefest is returning for another afternoon of swapping, sales, talks, and community activities. For those unfamiliar with the art form, zines are self-published books and magazines — often put together by hand or with a small press budget — that cover topics or points of view not prevalent in mainstream publications. A zine creator might strive to inform, to offer a differing perspective, or even be autobiographical. This Saturday, folks will find over 60 tables of zines from a variety of talents, including those who have been publishing for years as well as people who are just getting started. Bring your own works to trade, share ideas with other DIY artists, and get a little inspiration for your own projects. Snacks will be provided by chef Joshua Ploeg, who will be serving up vegan treats. For more info, visit www.facebook.com/tczinefest. (Photo by Sarah Jordet)
