Twin Cities Rockabilly Presents: Black Mass Car Show
The third annual Black Mass Car Show isn't just about the cars on display, though they're a big deal: sleek, colorful retro machines (both cars and motorcycles) whose owners have lovingly maintained their rides. But there's also great barbeque, and beer specials to wash it all down with. It's a regular convention of the Twin Cities rockabilly kids, who'll show up in full uniform—the lads in Chucks and tight jeans with Murray's-packed pompadours piled high, the ladies in polka dots and Bettie Page cuts. Some of the best local rockabilly bands will be sweating on stage for your aural enjoyment, including the Throbbing Shifters and psychobilly scene veterans Hot Rod Hearse. Missouri rockers Brutally Frank headline, promising a thrashing good show. If you pine for the time of poodle skirts and rock 'n' roll with a backbone, there's no better time machine than this weekend's party. (Photo by Adam DeGross)
