Twin Cities Pride Festival
Though there will be a plethora of ways to celebrate pride in the LGBT community this weekend, the main festival will serve as a starting point for many. This Saturday and Sunday, Loring Park will welcome folks from all over with a variety of activities. There will be sporting events throughout the day, family activities to entertain kids, and booths where organizations can share information. Or chat with friends while enjoying live music in the beer garden. Saturday night's concert features local flashback fixtures Boogie Wonderland, Kaci Battaglia, God-des & She, and '80s pop star Debbie Gibson for $10-$15 at 5:30 p.m. You'll want to be sure to stake out a good spot for Sunday's parade, which will travel down Hennepin Avenue from Third Street to the park starting at 11 a.m. For a complete schedule of happenings, visit www.tcpride.org.
