Twin Cities Improv Fest
Are you ready for some theater where everyone is out on a limb? The seventh annual Twin Cities Improv Festival brings together performers from across the country ready to make it all up before your eyes. Running over five days at HUGE Theater, the event features nearly three dozen improv groups. Headlining is 3 for All, a San Francisco trio including Rafe Chase, Tim Orr, and Stephen Kearin. Other national acts include Squalid Gold (from L.A.), whose members have been seen on The Daily Show and 30 Rock, and have a regular gig at the Improv in Hollywood. The East Coast brings the Magnet TourCo from New York. Locally, there is the Gay/Straight Alliance (Doug Neithercott and Tim Hellendrung), and OMG: Before We Got Our Lady Bits, where top female artists talk about the awkward preteen and teen years. Others include the Brave New Workshop, ComedySportz, Stevie Ray's, and many, many others. In all, there are 16 performance slots during the entire event. Tickets are $10 per performance, with special multi-passes available. For those interested in learning more about the craft of improv theater, several workshops are scheduled for Saturday and Sunday. These events have proven to be popular, and several are already sold out. For a complete list of showtimes, visit twincitiesimprovfestival.wordpress.com. (Pictured: 3 For All)
