Rain Taxi’s Twin Cities Book Festival is Minnesota’s biggest literary event of the year, as authors, poets, memoirists, essayists, and avid readers descend on the Fairgrounds. Things kick off Friday with an opening-night party from 5:30 to 7 p.m. at the Fine Arts Center. Mingle with your favorite writers and toast the rich local literary community. Just in time for the 90th anniversary of Winnie-the-Pooh, travel writer Kathryn Aalto will discuss East Sussex, England, and how this real-life location inspired the Hundred Acre Wood from the series. On Saturday, there’ll be readings, panel discussions, activities for both adults and children, chances to peruse new books in all genres, and plenty of opportunities to talk to authors from Minnesota and beyond.
