TV Party with Girl Germs:The Golden Girls
In a television programming landscape filled with twentysomething friends in high-fashion clothes they never could afford working at that New York coffee shop, it's nice to know that at one point there was a buddy sitcom that bucked tradition. Blanche may have been the sexually adventurous one, but she was also a senior citizen. Rose may have played the dumb blonde, but her hair was completely white. Mother and daughter Sophia and Dorothy were the cynical, sharp-tongued misanthropes, but they were like that not because they were hipsters, but because they had actually gone out and lived life. All four were friends who were still having adventures despite quickly approaching the twilight of their lives. You can revisit the beloved series, as Radio K's Girl Germs will be hosting a TV Party, airing the best of the show. Order up some happy-hour cocktails and toast to your friends.
