TU Dance

The O'Shaughnessy Auditorium is ample, and few local companies can really command the space, but TU Dance, led by Uri Sands and Toni Pierce-Sands (both former members of New York's Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater), has no trouble spreading the joy of motion to each and every board onstage. Their fall season features a world premiere, "Sense(ability) Sketch 1," which explores the symbiotic relationship between the senses and the elements, both of which are heightened during this change of season. The concert also includes selections from the group's growing repertory, including "High Heel Blues," a joyful duet for Sands and Pierce-Sands, and two full-company works, "Isms" and "Tearing," a full-on celebration of movement possibility through rigorous and athletic partnering.
