Trey McIntyre Project
Trey McIntyre's reputation for dances that are both elegantly constructed and full of playful spontaneity has rocketed his company to national prominence. Movement invention and emotional resonance collude in ballets that have been called fresh, dancy, and very American. While there is no pointe work, McIntyre's dances employ some pretty fancy footwork, often with toes resolutely pointed. Complex partnering abounds, along with the kind of rugged athleticism that you might expect from a company based in Boise, Idaho.
