Trail of Terror
There's a reason the line for the Haunted Hayride is so long: It's one of the more genuinely romantic and startling Minnesota Halloween attractions around—so bring your patience and your mittens. Other highlights of this beloved annual scare-fest on the Renaissance Festival grounds in Shakopee include the Trail of Terror itself—one of the largest heated indoor "haunted mazes" you'll encounter (watch out behind you)—as well as shorter-lined diversions such as the 3D Circus, the Vampire Chamber, and the Butcher House. There's also a tent with hot cider, a bonfire, a hypnotist comedy show, and a quasi-rave tent titled Club Scream. Visit www.trailofterrorfest.com for more info.
Thursdays-Sundays, 7-11 p.m. Starts: Oct. 9. Continues through Oct. 31, 2009
