Toys in the Attic 2010: A Celebration of Toys

Looking for something a little more unique than the average toy drive? This yearly happening is part art show, part holiday benefit. For the past three years artists have come together to create a variety of awesome poster art celebrating the toys of yesterday, today, and the future. All 12 x 12 prints are for sale, with 80 percent of the proceeds benefitting the Marine Toys for Tots Foundation. Participating artists and design teams include Adam Turman, Altered Esthetics, Lon Unitus, DWITT, Strawberryluna, and others both local and national. During festivities you can also check out 12 hand-painted Jamungo toys by artists Chuck U, DC Ice, and event organizer Steve Tenebrini (bid on them at eBay). In addition to beer and other treats, music will be provided by the intense-sounding A Face Melting Blog of Staggering Riffage. All sales benefit Toys for Tots. It's free to attend, but a new toy or a $5 suggested donation is greatly appreciated. The benefit party runs from 6 to 10 p.m. Friday, December 3.
