Tonight We Abide: The 2nd Annual Big Lebowski Party
This Halloween, play a trick and kidnap yourself down to the Bryant-Lake Bowl, where you can grab a treat (a White Russian, or what have you) and rock out with fellow Achievers at the second annual Tonight We Abide: The Big Lebowski Party. The evening will feature showings of Joel and Ethan Coen's 1998 cult-classic stoner-noir film, DJ Christian Fritz spinning tunes from the Coens' notoriously awesome soundtracks, karaoke, a costume contest, prize giveaways, and a Masquerade Bowl from 8 p.m. to 10 p.m. This is not 'Nam, this is bowling; there are rules. Entrants in the tournament must be in costume, although they need not necessarily be Lebowski themed. But why not—that's a bummer, man. Just dust off your getup from last month's Lebowski Fest. Plus, as a bonus, Halloween is on a Saturday this year. (You don't go out looking for a job dressed like that, do you, on a weekday?) The bowling tournament is $45, but everything else is free, including four screenings of the film (at 3 p.m., 6 p.m., 9 p.m., and 11:30 p.m.) Far out. (Image by Mike Kooiman)
