Tim Young

"I always thought I was funny," muses comedian Tim Young. "I was the class clown when I was younger, got into theater when I was in college, and I was in improv groups." It wasn't until his senior year, though, that he decided to try standup. "I would say it snowballed from there, but I don't want to make it sound grandiose." He found his comedy footing quickly enough, and was soon spending more time telling jokes than performing in plays. Though he still enjoys acting from time to time, standup is now his passion. "I like to write jokes, and play with the jokes, and learn how to make them the best and the funniest I can," he explains. "And I really like to work with the crowd as sort of a dialogue. Actors don't get to do that; there's a fourth wall. There's no wall in standup." If there were, Young would find a way to climb over or tunnel under it. His rapid-fire delivery maintains a cohesiveness that you wouldn't expect from so many set-up/punchlines. "I cover so many topics because people's attention spans are so short." 18+; 21+ later shows.
