Tim Pulnik

For comedian Tim Pulnik, the occasional acting role offers a nice break. "I think with any job it's nice to get away," he says. "Acting for me is work, but it's also like a vacation. You're not in the grind of having to travel, getting to the club, doing the shows, being up late. You can be up late on the set, but you have a trailer, a TV, and you can relax." His most recent television appearances include USA Network's wildly popular Burn Notice, as well as Charlie's Angels. He's not mad if you missed him on the latter. "It got canceled after four episodes. It was pretty bad," he laughs. He was originally drawn to standup while doing sketch comedy and improv. He enjoyed the independence that being a comic offered. "I could do it and I didn't need anyone else," he explains. Today, Pulnik regales audiences with stories about his family, as well as his personal life. He's not one for straight-on jokes, though. "I was never really good with 'jokey-jokes,'" he says. "I've always been able to tell stories and make them funny. And there are jokes within the stories. I get pretty animated, too. I like to tell a story and take people on a ride with me." This week's shows also include a set from Susie Saccoman.
