Tim Harmston

"You know, my act is like a car crash," says comedian Tim Harmston, "with bits and pieces flying all over the place. Sometimes it makes sense, sometimes it doesn't." He elaborates, "I personally can't describe what I do. It's a little bit of everything and a lot of nothing. I mix up one-liners and stories." Having worked in the advertising business, Harmston also gravitates toward pop culture and entertainment references. Though he was always interested in comedy growing up, it took him time to work up the nerve to do standup. "I came from a really funny family, both my dad and my uncles, and we would just sit around the fire making each other laugh." Those experiences gave him the notion to try his hand at comedy someday. "I was chicken until I turned about 31. I had a friend doing an open mic, and she said, 'You should come up and do it.' And the first time I did it I was hooked." The Wisconsin native travels to the Twin Cities often, and will be co-headlining with Minnesota's own Chuck Bartell. "Chuck has a very unique style," says Harmston. "We have a lot of fun backstage giving each other a hard time." 18+.
