Thursday Nights: Krystal Krunch's Never Been to Me Tour
You may be used to viewing art, but how often have you seen it with your third eye? This Thursday at the Walker Art Center, two L.A.-based "artist intuitives," Asher Hartman and Karuko Tanaka (a.k.a. Krystal Krunch), will lead a workshop that will help you tap into your inner energies, allowing you to connect with the people and objects around you. How will they accomplish this? According to an interview with Krystal Krunch on the Walker's blog, the duo will help you expand your five senses, thereby sharpening your intuition. After some meditation and chakra-opening exercises, you'll have a chance to try out your newly acquired observational skills in a whole new way at "Midnight Party." The exhibit, which draws mostly from the museum's permanent collection, explores many artists' use of "dreams, fantasies, visions, and meditations," and features the work of Joan Miró, Kiki Smith, Willem de Kooning, and many others. Krystal Krunch's Never Been to Me Tour starts at 6 p.m. in the Walker's Skyline Room with a workshop, and is followed by a tour starting in the Hennepin Lobby at 7:45 p.m. The event is part of the museum's Free Thursday Nights series.
