Dancers, singers, makers, and performers of all stripes are standing up in protest for This Machine (Not My President’s Day), a DIY series of events happening all over the country (as well as Europe and Australia) this Monday. Gatherings are scheduled to take place in bars, theaters, coffee shops, and other public spaces. Conceived by notorious performance artist Holly Hughes, it’s all in response to Trump’s regime, and calls on artists to let their voices be heard. The Minneapolis event, organized by Jess Kiel-Wornson and Sally Rousse, will be popping up along public transit lines in the afternoon, mobilizing conversations around resistance. The finale will be at the Red Stag Supper Club with more performances and rabble-rousing, along with food and drink. Public performances will take place along the 2, 4, 6, 11, and 61 bus routes from 4:30 to 6 p.m., followed by fun at Red Stag. For more info on worldwide events, visit badandnasty.com.
