The Women in Crisis Film Series: The Betty Broderick Story
For the latest installment of the Women in Crisis Film Series, event organizers and emcees will be revisiting A Woman Scorned: The Betty Broderick Story. This made-for-TV train wreck, based on true events, stars Meredith Baxter-Birney in the titular role. Broderick was a happy housewife and mother of four... until her husband left her for a younger woman. Following this betrayal, Broderick went on a campaign of anger, vengeance, and, eventually, murder. The true story is tragic, of course, but the two-part miniseries is the stuff of scenery-chewing legend. It will screen Saturday night at the BLB. As usual, bitchy commentary and rowdiness are encouraged. Proceeds from the event will go toward Women in Crisis panelist David Hanbury's moving budget, a.k.a. the "Movin on Up to a DE-LUXE Apartment in the Bronx Relocation Fund."
