If you remember "))((" from Miranda July's film Me and You and Everyone We Know, then you are versed in her wacky humor. And though her work can be very funny, it is also sweetly touching and even a tad meditative. This Friday, she will be in town screening her second feature-length film, The Future, at the Walker Art Center. As with her previous work, July was involved in all the aspects of the movie, which she wrote, directed, and starred in. The film is narrated by Paw Paw, a special-needs cat adopted by the lead couple. The screening will include an introduction and discussion with July. It's an opportunity to see the film before it opens theatrically August 12 at the Lagoon Cinema. There will be a reception and cash bar in Garden Café by D'Amico following the film.
Fri., July 8, 7:30 p.m., 2011
