The Curse of Yig

While this short story is definitely a lesser piece by H.P. Lovecraft (he ghost-wrote it from notes by collaborator Zelia Bishop), it has enough of the author's signature creepiness to make for a good, scary story. Tim Uren (who tackled Lovecraft's Rats in the Walls in 2006) is joined by Amy Schweickhardt as they tell of Oklahoma settlers who believe they've run afoul of an ancient native snake god. Their storytelling is a bit rough in spots, but it all pays off in the final minutes with some true scares in a dark cabin where dawn never seems to come.
