The Appleseed Cast

The Appleseed Cast started out emo, but eight albums later they've decided to stop whining and instead cling meekly to broken-winged optimism. Their growing pains developed into a multifaceted beauty, an agile creature with the ability to touch every emotion in the span of a single track. A fan of torrential guitars, the Appleseed Cast approach epic climaxes, only to get snagged later by the haunches of sanguine mysticism. There are shadows of hopefulness in each song. But this music is not for the MGMT-style lovey lovies. It's meant for the closet depressives—those who acknowledge the good and bad in every day, but seek out the wash of synth or the heart-wrenching riff that makes them move forward. With One for the Team, Giants, and Daybreak. All ages.
