That's What She Said

What exactly did she say? Find out this Wednesday as the best word mixers in the city (of the female variety, of course), come together to raise funds for poets attending the 2nd Annual Women of the World Poetry Slam. Now in its second year, WOWPS is a four-day festival in Detroit in which more than 50 artists give readings, attend workshops, and compete against the best female slam poets. Slated performers at this benefit include Doomtree rapper and poet Desdamona, 2006 Minneapolis Individual Poetry Slam Champion Cynthia French, St. Paul Women's Poetry Slam Champion Sierra DeMulder, Minneapolis Women's Poetry Slam Champion Inky, and College Poetry Slam National performer Jenn Sparks. Electronic musician Caly McMorrow will provide tunes, and a silent auction will include perks at the Loft and Northern Clay Center, among other things.
