This Friday, the delightfully twee Holidazzle Parade will launch its 20th anniversary. Fanfare, the lead float every year, will carry trumpeters announcing the beginning of the parade along with the Grand Marshal, who varies per evening. The Ameriprise Circus Train will reliably bring cuteness in full force, towing tiny children dressed as animals. During each night, folks will have an opportunity to donate cash or foodshelf items in baskets as the train goes by, all of which will go to the Emergency Foodshelf Network. Doodlebug, the Twins' snowman blimp, will be in high fashion in his Joe Mauer jersey. This year's twinkle fest is appropriately themed "A Fairy Tale for All," and will feature the usual beloved sparkly cast, including Dorothy and the Tin Man. If you are easily chilled, take shelter in the skyway or bring a thermos of hot cocoa, as hot seats are completely sold out. For more info, visit www.holidazzle.com. Free. 6:30 p.m. Thursdays through Sundays. Parade travels along Nicollet Mall, from 12th to Fourth Streets in downtown Minneapolis. (Photo by Richard Westley Wong)
Thursdays-Sundays, 6:30 p.m. Starts: Nov. 25. Continues through Dec. 18, 2011
