This is the final weekend for director Peter Moore's Swinging '60s take on Agatha Christie's tale of lies, deceit, subterfuge, and a few more lies thrown in for good measure. Carolyn Pool plays a diplomat's wife who discovers a corpse in a drawing room, then sets about on an intricate cover-up that unfurls a series of surprises (not least motivated by keeping herself from being arrested). The excellent Steve Hendrickson and Bob Davis also star, leading a sharp cast through a well-crafted whodunit. Think of one of those dreams in which you've done something terribly wrong, and have to endure all sorts of surreal contortions in order not to get caught; Christie's mind mazes evoke the same sort of squishy, overheated anxiety.
Thursdays-Saturdays, 7:30 p.m.; Sundays, 2 p.m. Starts: June 5. Continues through June 21, 2009
