Skating at the Depot
Sure, neighborhood rinks can be a lot of fun. If you're a beginner, however, the lumpiness of the ice can be treacherous. If you're a skilled dancer on the ice? You don't want to try a jump or spiral. And don't even think about heading out if the weather is too cold. Enter the Depot's skating rink. Here, the ice is beautifully maintained and smooth, the weather is controlled, the rails are plentiful for those who need to clutch them, and with the building's floor-to-ceiling windows, the downtown views are truly lovely. After all, there's a reason why this rink regularly makes national top 10 lists and gets name-dropped by Olympic medalists like Kristi Yamaguchi. Taking to the ice here also makes for a fun date night, as concessions include wine and local craft beer, as well as warm soups and hot chocolate for when you do need to warm up. Check online for open-skate hours and days.
