Every Tue., Wed., Thu., Fri., Sat., and Sun. from June 18-Sept. 11
Slow down your body, free your mind, and explore this exhibition, designed to encourage contemplation and quiet moments. Organized into three sections, "Silence and Echoes" features modern works that convey the maxim "less is more," pictures that conjure memories and still time, and artworks that use silence (think John Cage, whose modern-dance pieces instructed musicians to sit quietly rather than play their instruments). It all comes together to challenge conventional notions of art making, the artist's role in society, and the values of chance and intention.
