For some comedians, performing standup for a living is something they've dreamed about since they were kids. For Sheng Wang, standup was something he could do to avoid getting a real job. "I graduated from college with a business degree, and wasn't sure what I wanted to do with my life," he says of his entry into the comedy world. "I knew that I wanted to not work, but I was never a go-to funny guy or anything like that. Then someone told me I should try standup comedy, and I was like, 'I think I know what that is, and I think I like it.'" Not only did he know what it was, but it turned out that he was pretty good at it, too. For the past 11 years, Wang has toured comedy clubs, college campuses, and festivals all over the country. This weekend, he'll be stopping at the Mystic Lake Comedy Club, giving audiences the opportunity to see why sometimes a college degree can be completely worthless. "I'm happy to be able to tour and perform, because at this point I'm not sure I have much to offer society in terms of relevant skills besides comedy." With Matt Koff.
