Shanghaied: New Years Eve 2011
At this three-level, multi-room party, guests will be able to ring in 2011 in a setting reminiscent of an underworld Asian speakeasy. Enter through the front doors and you'll find a glamorous nightclub with DJ music and a posh ambiance. Walk through to the back rooms and you'll discover a seedy industrial hideout filled with gambling, shadow puppetry, and other performances. You'll want to explore each area and level, as different spaces feature different treats, ranging from karaoke, to acrobatics, to a shibari (bondage) art performance, to video and light displays. The DJ lineup is epic, and includes sets from Gigamesh, DJ Bach, the Wants Vs. Needs crew, So Gold, and others. Though the party is speakeasy-themed, booze won't be scarce; drinks, including specialty cocktails created specifically for the evening, will be available throughout the night.
