Sexy Liberal Comedy Tour

"Part of what we're doing is taking back that word, 'liberal.' It's not a bad word. We always say we think being liberal is sexy because it means you're smart and open-minded." So says comedian and political commentator Stephanie Miller, host of the eponymous, nationally syndicated talk show (broadcast in the Twin Cities at AM 950). The daughter of William Miller, Barry Goldwater's vice presidential nominee in 1964, she began her career as an apolitical standup comic and gradually moved toward politics on the other side of the aisle. After years of performing on the radio inside "a little glass studio," Miller is taking the show on the road with the Sexy Liberal Tour, which features the snarky, savvy host and her actor/comedian pals John Fugelsang and Hal Sparks. The three will blend standup with some panel discussion and an audience Q&A, all in the breezy, informed style that has made her program the perfect antidote to both the apocalyptic ravings of uber-conservatives like Glenn Beck and self-serious blowhard left-wingers like Ed Schulz. "It's the radio show without FCC regulations."
