Seaton Smith is quickly becoming a popular headlining comedian in clubs around the country. However, you may have seen him already in a viral video campaign for Sierra Mist, or in his hilarious web series Annoy Charlie Smith Inc. The latter followed the exploits of a man who discovered that a multinational corporation was in business strictly to annoy him. His next series will tell the tale of the second black man to do everything. "It's going to be kind of Ken Burns meets Forrest Gump," Smith says. "It's all about how no one cares that he's the second guy to pay baseball and so on." Always a fan of comedy, Smith didn't take the plunge until college, where he was studying filmmaking. He's now a seasoned standup, and audiences enjoy his mix of comedic styles. "[I take] random topics, and then I make few funny points on those topics," he says of his set. "There are stories, characters, and jokey jokes. It's a good time." Sometimes he'll involve the audience. "If they're interesting. Sometimes they're boring," he laughs. "If there's a hot girl in the front row, I'll talk to her for a while hopefully. A man with a microphone onstage seems to do well. Not as well as a man with a guitar, but I do what I can."
