Ryan Hamilton

Idaho native Ryan Hamilton doesn't feel growing up in the Gem State had much of an effect on his comedy. "I live in New York City now, and that's kind of funny," he says. "There are a lot of funny things about growing up in Idaho. It's not all potato farming communities like you'd think. It was a great place to grow up." Though he was a comedy fan from an early age, and indeed wanted to become a standup comic, he didn't try it until he was nearly out of Brigham Young University in Utah. "I just kind of wrote a few minutes of material and went up," he explains. "I had been writing ideas down before I started doing comedy. I was just writing down things that I thought I would use someday." Today, he talks about relationships, living in the Big Apple, and being from Idaho. "It's pretty light, fun, and very observational." For example, there's the time he took a girl for a hot-air balloon ride, which sounded like fun at first. "I have a death grip on a wicker basket," he tells the audience. "Why are they using wicker? They shouldn't make anything that flies out of wicker. I don't trust wicker on the ground." 18+.
