Rock the Cause: Glitter Ball 2.0
Get your eyelash curler and gaudiest shade of eyeliner; it's time for Glitter Ball 2.0. The glam rock blowout concert will bring several of the Twin Cities' best local acts on one stage with two goals: to sing glam-rock hits by bands including Queen, Bowie, Kiss, and T-Rex, and to raise money for two incredible local charities. Local acts White Light Riot, Mercurial Rage, Little Man, All the Pretty Horses, Sick of Sarah, and the Mood Swings will belt out tunes from the most flamboyant era of rock to benefit the Minnesota AIDS Project and Clare Housing. Joining the local bands will be Phoenix-based purveyors of modern glam rock, the Crash Street Kids. The Minnesota AIDS project is a 25-year-old agency devoted to helping Minnesotans living with HIV/AIDS. Last year the organization, along with its more than 1,000 volunteers, worked with more than half of the almost 6,000 Minnesotans living with AIDS. Clare Housing is a nonprofit housing organization that provides homes, living skills, and end-of-life care to people with HIV/AIDS. Clearly, both vital organizations are worth rocking out to your favorite hairspray-drenched power chords for. 18+.
