River City Revue: WORK
One of the great things about summertime in the Twin Cities is that you can hop on a boat on the Mississippi and enjoy the sights and sun along the way. This Wednesday, you'll be able to do just that (and more) with the return of River City Revue. The first installment of the two-part series, titled WORK, will feature a variety of entertainment, hands-on activities, and spectacular views of downtown St. Paul aboard the Jonathon Padelford Riverboat. Dick and Jane's Big Brass Band will be on hand to provide live music, while expert river workers will demonstrate the art of tying nautical knots. Revolver literary magazine will also ask revelers to help judge a shout-boasting competition. Later in the month, the second part of the series, PLAY, will present card games and bingo, along with bluegrass tunes by the Eelpout Stringers. That event will be held on Friday, August 23.
