People have been pounding the earth rhythmically since time immemorial. This weekend Rhythmically Speaking, a loosely knit group of choreographers and performers who specialize in rhythm-driven dance forms, celebrates the relationship between music and movement with works that include classic jazz dance, rhythm-tap, and flamenco. "Conversations in Physical Rhythm" includes choreography by Yung-Tsi Bolon & Laura Horn, Emily Broeker, Maura Garcia, Karla Grotting, Erinn Liebhard, Christine Maginnis, and Darrius Strong. The production will feature video, voice-over, and live vignettes to give viewers a peek into how the elements that inform the creation of rhythm-driven dance create distinct voices. Hear them roar.
