Radio K 15th Anniversary Party
It was 1993 when the University of Minnesota decided to merge WMMR and KUOM into Radio K. Fifteen years later, the student-run station has proved to be precocious in its influence, both locally and nationally. Over the years, the station has garnered a plethora of awards (including numerous "Best Radio Station" awards from City Pages), as well as a spot in a 2005 Rolling Stone article titled "Schools That Rock." This Wednesday, Radio K celebrates 15 years of radio with a birthday bash featuring performances by local acts that listeners love. Psychedelic rockers Vampire Hands, Doomtree rapper Sims, indie rockers Low, and experimental electronic artist Dosh round out what should be an eclectic evening of music. 18+.
