Playwrights' Center Reading: The Three Christs of Yspilanti
The Ruth Easton New Play Series at the Playwrights' Center may well be the best kept secret of the Twin Cities arts and entertainment scene. The free series gives playwrights the opportunity to have their plays read in front of a live audience. The result is a win-win for everyone: The playwright gains insight into their script and the audience gets to be part of the process. The next reading, The Three Christs of Yspilanti, by Dan O'Brien, explores the lives of three men who believe they are Jesus Christ, and Milton Rokeach, the psychiatrist who brought them together and then documented the support group sessions in a book of the same name. A free discussion on religion and psychology in the midst of a recession: What else do you need on a Monday night? Free; call 612.332.7481 ext. 10 to RSVP.
Mon., March 2, 7 p.m., 2009
