Playful Peacock Show
It's funny to imagine the origins of tassel twirling. Regardless, the person who came up with it probably knew how to have a good time. And hopefully you will too at this weekend's Playful Peacock Show. Miss Indigo Blue, the Burlesque Hall of Fame Reigning Queen of Burlesque, will be in town to share her unique brand of neo-burlesque with Minnesota audiences. The Seattle-based performer will also be hosting tassel-twirling workshops for amateurs, exhibitionists, and budding talents on Friday as part of the Playful Peacock Showgirl Academy, the Twin Cities' first (and only) burlesque school. You'll be able to see a little of what students learned at Saturday night's performance, which will also include acts from professionals like Ophelia Flame, Gina Louise, Coco Dupree, Musette, Miss Indigo Blur, and host Foxy Tann. Proceeds from the show will benefit the Burlesque Hall of Fame, which strives to preserve and archive the rich history of the art form. 18+. (Photo by StudioBetties)
