Pink Bow City
Pink Bow City is an online vintage-inspired shopping site started by local gal Keona Tranby. This Wednesday, it will host its first annual fashion bash. The runway show — featuring Twin Cities designers Sarah M. Holm, Cassie Sue, and Pink Bow City — will give attendees a taste of what the website is all about. Tranby loves Sue's feminine style and Holm's rockabilly pinup looks, and is excited to showcase local talent. "I chose them to be in the show because they're from Minneapolis," she says. "I want to really build a community; that's the whole point of the event." Since vintage fashion is about more than just the clothes, live pinup transformations will take place at the party with retro hair and makeup demonstrations by local talent. Guests will also enjoy free appetizers and music by the rockabilly band Shakin' Babies. "It's going to be a really unique fashion event," Tranby says. "It's free, so that's a huge bonus for people to come see what Pink Bow City is all about." All ages. Free; $5 donation gets you a sticker and a copy of Pink Bow's magazine.
