For 12 years, Rosalux has been granting exhibition space to artists outside of its collective to bring in fresh perspectives that invigorate not only the gallery’s member artists but also its audiences. Andrea Carlson curated this year’s show with an eye toward works with tactility, materiality, and texture. In other words, works you want to reach out and touch — but please do so only with your mind, heart, and eyes. Artists include R.J. Kern, whose digital prints evoke the painterliness of Old Masters, and Jake Zirbes, whose ecstatic paintings erupt from their surfaces. There will be an opening reception on Saturday, December 10, from 7 to 10 p.m.
