One-Minute Play Festival
The One-Minute Play Festival (#1MPF), hosted by Walking Shadow Theatre Company and Mixed Blood Theatre, returns for a second year this weekend with two nights of theater so short that if you blink you might miss it. With plays by a diverse group of local playwrights ranging from emerging to established, the festival, founded by producing artistic director Dominic D'Andrea, who also curates the evening, is aimed at creating dialogue between the individual voices of playwrights and those of the broader community. Other #1MPF festivals are taking place across the country at theaters with playwright- or community-specific focuses as well, and include prestigious talents such as David Henry Hwang and Neil LaBute. Here in the Twin Cities, the #1MPF showcases a whole host of great local voices, including Trista Baldwin, Dominic Taylor, Aditi Kapil, Rhiana Yazzie, and Joseph Scrimshaw.
Saturdays, Sundays, 8 p.m. Starts: Feb. 15. Continues through Feb. 16, 2014
