Off the Wall
This group show features work by nine artists in a variety of mediums. Liz Miller's mixed-media installations are brightly colored works; elements are chaotically strewn about, while the repetitions of the patterns cut into each element suggest order as well. Mason Eubanks's paintings are filled with three-dimensional globs of color that can appear random from afar and purposefully detailed up close. Mayumi Armada's plastic-tarp sculpture bears words of wisdom, and is as intricately detailed as a flower, a doily, or a snowflake. These are only a few of the pieces featured in "Off the Wall." The opening reception this Saturday, January 16, from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. will feature live music from DJ Black Lacquer. There will also be a free artists' dialogue at 7 p.m. Saturday, February 6.
