Northeast Ride

Long famed as a blue-collar safe haven for immigrants (Polish and Lebanese settlers in the early 20th century, Somali and Latino today), and known for its hipster habitues, northeast Minneapolis is full of quiet, tree-lined streets and beautiful parks. It's also punctuated by an amazing assortment of ethnic eateries, like Holy Land, Chimborazo, Emily's Lebanese Deli, and, of course, Nye's Polonaise Room. The Northeast Ride, a social-paced 12-mile bike tour organized by the Northeast CDC, aims to show noobs to the area every corner of the district. Kicking off from the Minneapolis Armory, the ride will hit Boom Island, a variety of parks (Logan, Windom, Audubon, Waite, and others), then roll past art-centric sights such as the Northrup King, Casket Arts, and California buildings. Northeast is famous for its breweries, including 612Brew and Dangerous Man, so it's appropriate for this bike tour to end at Indeed Brewing with an after party from 2 to 5 p.m. Savor a craft brew as you recollect the sights you've seen.
