Nightmare Halloween Hayride and Haunted House

Now that it is October, we are fast approaching the holiday season. And it's fitting that we get things started with a holiday that celebrates gore, terror, and binge candy-eating (even if, ironically, it's the later holidays that really bring the fear and anxiety). This Friday marks the seasonal opening of the Nightmare Hayride and Haunted House at Pinehaven Farms. The freaky, mile-long tour should terrify guests as the forest is filled with ghouls, zombies, and other things that are better off left buried. In the haunted house, guests can have their fortune told or face painted. Some nights will have live music as well. October 9 and 10 will feature guest appearances by actor Michael Berryman, star of Wes Craven's The Hills Have Eyes. Looking to get in for free? Those who donate blood to the Red Cross during certain dates and times get R.I.P. tickets (it's like V.I.P. for the damned). Call or visit to sign up. Check for a list of dates and times.
Fridays, Saturdays, 7-11 p.m.; Sun., Oct. 11, 7-9 p.m.; Thursdays, 7-9 p.m.; Sun., Oct. 18, 7-9 p.m.; Wednesdays, 7-9 p.m. Starts: Oct. 2. Continues through Oct. 31, 2009
